One of North America's leading construction materials suppliers operates more than 500 locations across the US and Canada, with a workforce that blends permanent and contingent staff in roles ranging from warehouse associates and forklift drivers to accounts payable and administration. Without a vendor management system in place, around 40% of contingent labor spend was happening outside approved channels, branch managers were running onboarding and safety training on-site, and scaling for seasonal demand was a constant strain.
